We left the hotel this morning and went just along the road to Abu Gush where there is a church commemerating the place where the Ark of the Covenant was for over 20 years before David came down to get it and return it to Jerusalem. We sang and prayed and read the scritures concerning the time the Ark was in this place.
Then we went to En Kerem the birth place and home of John the Baptist.. we had a great time here walking around the various places and churches associated with John or his family.
The we went to the Israel Meuseum and saw a big scale model of the city of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus and at other times. It really was a small city in Jesus time. now such a large and bussling city. Also at the meuseum we saw the dead sea scrolls history and display.
We had lunch at a nice Shawma shop and then drove past the home of the Prime Minister. we stopped to pray and got talking to the security and praying for Benjahmin and the government. We also stopped at a site promoting the relaease of Gilad Shilat an Israeli soldier captured and imprisioned in Gaza for over 5 years now. Hamass will not let the red cross see him or give any information about him. If the boot was on the other foot they would be bleating all around the world but the world dosent seem to care that Hamas is holding this guy.
We are now back at our hotel early and enjoying a bit of a break...
Shalom from Jerusalem.
