We left Golan and our lovely accommidation at Ramon and went on to Bet Shen. This is a very ancient city and the old ruins are the best preserved in Israel. This is the Philitine town where they took King Saul after his death and strung him up in the city gates. and it was also the capital of the Decapolious in the time of Jesus.
I guess we cant compalin because we prayed for rain on the shores of the Galilee but it really poured with rain while we were there. Our guide who is almost 50 said he had never seen rain in Bet Shan like he saw today, it was running down the streets and flooding.
We left Bet Shan a littel wet and went on to Jerusalem via the Jordon valley and along the Jordon border road. We arrived in Jerusalem late afternoon still raining. We viewed the city from Mt Scopus near the Hebrew univercity.
Jerusalem is always a pleasure to behold
For those at home worried about our saftey in Jerusalem thank you. There have been a number of attacks on Israel in the past 24 hours all well away from where we are staying. We are stating outside the troubled areas but we are on alert. For those wanting to call family or loved ones we will be in Maale Hachamisha Hotel for the next three nights the number from NZ is 00972 2 5331333 if you want to call your family.
